Brief 4: Paco Rabanne Visuals

After doing some research into Paco Rabanne's history, I was keen to go back to it's era as a fashion house, and try to recreate a classic and timeless brand that had been pulled into this lifestyle promotion it's current ads have.
I wanted to create a series of patterns that could work in conjunction with an art deco style logo and design. I did this first by creating patterns using pen and ink:

I had started doing some vague logo designs, but found that none of them partnered well with the patterns I had created, which on their own were appearing messy and were proving difficult to digitise.

After our first crit, I agreed with much of the feedback I received, that it had started to look quite feminine and wasn't fitting with the ideals I had for it, making it a European and masculine brand that would attract more men to it.
I was advised to stick with the art deco approach and try to modernise it and make it more current. From this I decided to scrap my previous logo and restart it, using a similar font to that Paco Rabanne already have so it didn't become a completely new brand.
