Brief 4: Paco Rabanne Logo

Given the feedback from the crit, much of which advised me to take a new angle, I wanted to put more emphasis on the art deco elements of the design. Popular opinion has informed me that the 1920s theme makes people reminisce about a time when the men were very much men, so I felt that this would allow me to attract men without having to sell women or a lifestyle.

I started experimenting with some more geometric designs and ended up playing around with monotone squares to create a pattern:

I decided to use this pattern for the logo as I found that it worked well with the type I chose to use (Geo Sans Light), which is also similar to the original Paco Rabanne logo font.

The logo design I decided on can be seen in the two above images. I felt that they were able to seem quite sharp and suave while remaining decadent. I decided to use this same aesthetic for much of the packaging and design, as for this brief I am aiming to use no photography, which is something that I find the design of perfumes and aftershaves are often dependent on.
