I had previously been interested in doing some work for Belgrave Music Hall, and so decided to create a couple of new posters for the Belgrave Feast, an event Belgrave host every few months featuring street food, art, ales and music over their three floors.
I wanted to use the same aesthetic that was used on the above poster, simple linear illustrations with a block type. For the illustrations, I looked into what food, drinks and musical elements would be involved in the event.
I chose some features of the street food to replicate as well as some aspects of the art, music, and drinks involved.
I chose to use Bebas Neue for the copy, as it is quite similar to the original type they use in their logo, and I find it to be a fitting font for poster design as it lends itself to a balance of the visuals and copy.
For the finished posters I primarily used CMYK as the previous Belgrave posters had used Cyan often, so I just expanded that. I tried to incorporate some similarly angular styles to the background of the posters that also featured in earlier posters.
